چکیده
The frequency-modulated interrupted continuous waveform (FMICW) has been widely used in remotely sensing sea surface states by high-frequency ground wave radar (HFGWR). However, the cross section model of for this not yet presented. Therefore, first- and second-order models about are derived study. derivation begins with general electric field equations. Subsequently, FMICW source is introduced as transmitted signal to obtain FMICW-incorporated backscattered These equations calculate range spectra Fourier transforming. transformation calculated from successive sweep intervals gives Doppler or power spectral densities. obtained directly comparing standard equation. Moreover, an simulated compared those a (FMCW) source. Results show that FMCW cases have different analytical expressions but almost same numerical results.

Radar cross-section (RCS) analysis of high frequency surface wave radar targets
Realistic high frequency surface wave radar (HFSWR) targets are investigated numerically in terms of electromagnetic wave – target interactions. Radar cross sections (RCS) of these targets are simulated via both the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method and the Method of Moments (MoM). The virtual RCS prediction tool that was introduced in previous work is used for these investigations. T...
متن کاملHigh-frequency radar observations of ocean surface currents.
This article reviews the discovery, development, and use of high-frequency (HF) radio wave backscatter in oceanography. HF radars, as the instruments are commonly called, remotely measure ocean surface currents by exploiting a Bragg resonant backscatter phenomenon. Electromagnetic waves in the HF band (3-30 MHz) have wavelengths that are commensurate with wind-driven gravity waves on the ocean ...
متن کاملAn L-band model function for the ocean-normalized radar cross section derived from PALSAR
The relationship between ocean wind vectors and L-band normalized radar cross sections (NRCS) is comprehensively examined to propose an L-band model function by using the Phased-Array L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (PALSAR) and scatterometer wind data. Based on more than 90,000 match-ups, the L-band NRCS dependence on wind speed, incidence angle, and relative wind direction is modeled for the ...
متن کاملRadar Cross Section Measurements of Frequency Selective Terahertz Retroreflectors
The radar cross section of spherical retroreflectors operating at terahertz frequencies is investigated. Several spherical retroreflectors with diameters ranging from 2 mm to 8 mm were fabricated and their radar cross section was measured at 100 GHz, 160 GHz, and 350 GHz. A frequency selective surface was applied to the retroreflectors to demonstrate proof of concept of narrow-band terahertz re...
